Site Approved for Recycling

:INNOV8PLANNING has secured planning approval for a Material Recycling Facility (MRF) on Green Belt land near Bury, for one of its clients.

In response to the decision by Bury MBC Planning Committee to grant the permission, Grant Scott, Director of :INNOV8Planning, said:

‘Material Recycling Facilities enable the sorting of materials discarded as rubbish, allowing more materials to be recycled instead of landfilled. The recycling of these materials before landfilling ensures that maximum use is made of the things we throw away. For example, once a tin can is thrown into a landfill it is lost forever. Whereas at a MRF it will be segregated and sent for recycling.

“We are pleased that Bury planners recognised the importance of the role of material recycling facilities as part of the bigger recycling picture, and agreed that such development represents ‘very special circumstances’ within a Green Belt location.

“This recycling facility will bring landfill into the 21st century and allow for a more efficient and sustainable placement of waste that does require landfilling.”
